Thursday Afternoon Report

Good afternoon folks… Here’s your afternoon report.

So far so good on both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881 with no new incidents to report. Both roads on 511 show to be snow covered with slippery sections however, a quick search of the Hwy cams in the area shows a much different story. For the most part, the roads appear to be clear but wet, so do expect some slick spots and adjust your driving accordingly. Other than that, your afternoon drive should be fairly uneventful. Currently in Edmonton, there’s some light flurries and -10, LLB also has some light flurries and -15 and FMM is -15 with some light flurries…

Please use this thread to keep others up to date.

Stay safe, drive to the conditions and remember…

Good morning folks and Happy New Year. Sorry for the lengthy absence, but we’re back on track for 2016.

In Edmonton this morning it is overcast and -10 with a chill of -16 and there is a chance of some morning flurries. FMM is getting some light snow and is sitting at -16 with a chill of -18, but it should clear later this morning. LLB is also overcast and -17, but the skies should clear for the most part later this morning.

Hwy 63 does have its challenges this morning for both north and south bound traffic. Between Marianna Lake and Wandering River there are some snow covered and slippery sections. I’m sure that the snow plows and sand trucks were out in full force during the night, but watch for blowing snow and those nasty mini whiteouts. Over on Hwy 881, between Hart Lake and LLB, there are also some slippery sections and snow covered roads. Please adjust your driving accordingly. If there are any other areas I’ve missed or you have real time conditions of where you’re at, please use this thread to comment. In the meantime…

Good morning folks. Today is Thursday, December 3, 2015 and here is your weather and road report current to 0400hrs.

Edmonton is waking up to a few clouds and -3º with a wind chill of -8º. In the afternoon you can expect a high of +2º under a mostly sunny sky (Not too bad for December). FMM is also waking with a few clouds and -1º and your afternoon high will be just above freezing at plus 1º with just a few clouds. In LLB the skies are clear and -2º and your daytime high will be 0º under sunny skies.

So far so good on both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881 with no new incidents to report. There may be some foggy sections in the low-lying areas as well as some slippery spots, but it should be too concerning. Just adjust your driving accordingly and your drive/commute should be uneventful.

That’s all for this morning folks, I’ll update if and when needed. In the meantime, please use this thread to keep your fellow travelers up to date as to the current conditions of where you’re at.
