Good morning folks… Well, the snow hit pretty good in most areas and there are some challenging road conditions out there to know about…

Edmonton is currently overcast and -8 but the skies should clear in the early afternoon and the daytime high is -3. LLB is still under a winter storm warning and is still expecting heavy snow and or freezing rain. LLB is mostly cloudy at the moment and -7. FMM and most of the RMWB are still under a heavy snowfall warning and is currently overcast and -10.

Both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881, the southern sections are both in poor to fair winter driving condition. Both roads are snow covered and have slippery and icy sections. The northern section of both roads, at this time, appear to be just wet. DEFINITELY take your time today folks. Have a full tank of gas and check in regularly with someone and most of all, do not be in a hurry today.

Please use this post to keep each other up to date as to the current conditions of where you’re at.

Stay safe, drive to the conditions and remember…

Good morning folks, the weekend is almost upon us…

Overnight Edmonton got a few centimeters of the white n fluffy stuff, just because the morning commute isn’t challenging enough for most people. Anyway it’s currently -17, -22 with the wind and the clouds will be sticking around for the rest of the day. LLB is also overcast and -21, -28 with the wind, warming to a daytime high of -18 and a few sunny breaks. FMM is overcast and -22, -26 with the wind and will get some sunny breaks as well later today.

So far so good on both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881 with no new incidents to report. Both roads are in fair winter driving condition, so please expect some snow covered and slippery sections on your daily commute, but it shouldn’t be too bad. You may also encounter some of those nasty mini whiteouts as the big rigs roll by. Just take your time, adjust your driving to the conditions and all will be good.

That’s all for this morning folks, please use this thread to keep each other up to date as to the current road conditions of where you’re at.

Good morning folks and for you 9-5 types… Happy Hump Day.

Currently in Edmonton it’s overcast and -2, -4 with the wind and a chance for afternoon flurries. LLB is sitting at -8, -11 with the wind and a 70% chance of flurries this afternoon. FMM is also overcast and -11, -17 with the wind and a 40% chance of flurries this afternoon or early evening.

So far so good on both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881 with no new incidents to report. Both roads are a little wet and are considered to be in good winter driving condition, but do expect some slippery sections along the way and adjust your driving accordingly.

***Winter Driving Tip*** ALWAYS leave for long trips with a full tank of gas. Should the road close for any reason, you don’t want to have to worry about whether you’ll have enough gas/fuel to keep warm and THEN continue on with your trip.

That’s all for this morning folks. Please use this thread to keep each other posted as to the current conditions.
