LLB is expecting rain this morning and a “Special Weather Statement” has been issued for the area, because of the frozen ground conditions, sidewalks and roads could become slippery. So far so good on both Hwy 63 and Hwy 881 with no new incidents to report. Please be mindful of the potential for rain today and it may cause some slick conditions out there, so please adjust your driving accordingly. ***URGENT UPDATE***

Ok folks… according to Environment Canada, an “upper level disturbance” has caused several regions to fall under a freezing rain warning. Wood Buffalo (Ft.McMurray), Wandering River, Lac La Biche, Red Water and the city of Edmonton are all under a FREEZING RAIN WARNING… Currently, on the west side of Edmonton, it is raining pretty good, like Vancouver level rain. PLEASE post current conditions of where you’re at and PLEASE slow down and adjust your driving accordingly. Use this thread to keep each other up to date. Also, sidewalks, driveways and other areas NOT normally cleared of snow and ice, will be absolutely treacherous with the rainfall in Edmonton. Keep that in mind if you're walking anywhere.

Stay safe, drive to the conditions and remember…
